Native of Norway. He came to the U.S. after the Civil War. In 1873 he worked for
Carlos Gove, gunmaker of Denver. Schoyen established his own shop in 1885. Maker of .32-40 Creedmoore rifles with "fishbelly" Schuetzen stock, palm rest, double-set trigger. In 1904 Axel W. Peterson became his partner and succeeded Schoyen upon his death in 1916. |
